Tara Jernejcic, MA-ISHB, PA-C

Clinical Director- PA Program

Physician Assistant Program

Tara Jernejcic, MA-ISHB, PA-C has practiced as a physician assistant since 1997, serving primarily under-resourced and marginalized populations in North Carolina before relocating to Maryland in 2014. Whether functioning as the sole healthcare provider of a 400-patient chronic disease focused free clinic, facilitating difficult discussions and sitting vigil with patients and families at the end-of-life, securing wrap-around services for previously incarcerated persons or designing and implementing an obesity management program, Tara has found ways to deliver best-practice medical care while meeting patients where they are in their health journey.

Tara joins the Mount community following a dynamic opportunity to serve as clinical director of the COVID-19 response for a large, international corporation. Having built a cross-functional corporate health and employee engagement program to manage employee wellness and business continuity from ground up she brings unique perspectives and skills to her role as clinical director of Mount St. Mary’s University’s inaugural Physician Assistant program.
