Laurarose is a behavioral health care expert and is an advocate for PAs in health care initiatives including serving as a frontline leader for the expansion of the PA role in behavioral health ("psychiatry") and telemental health utilization in Maryland. Her background also includes higher education for PA programs, training and coaching, crisis intervention, risk assessment, trauma-informed care, behavior modification and analysis, resilience-building and burnout reduction intervention, equitable learner success strategies, health care entrepreneurship, program and policy development, quality improvement, data and analytics, psychometrics, accreditation, interprofessional teamwork, and wellness-oriented leadership innovations.

She is highly engaged in teaching with an inclusive and trauma-informed pedagogical framework. Service is crucial to her core values and is represented additionally through her active membership, leader, and presenter with several health care organizations and advisory councils of a local and national scale. She is continually engaged in scholarship activities supporting the advancing health care landscape, addressing areas of need, and empowering others along the journey. She is passionate about her work, advancing person-centered care through psychological and health systems science principles, and with prioritization of well-being, empowerment, and equity for students, program faculty/staffs, and the community at large.
